Chris and Garths Croft is where it all really started for No88. Seeing his passion and how he looked after his live stock as well as tasting the difference was really what sent us down the route of local. His quality produce. wether it is his rare breed pigs or pedigree shetland sheep, as soon as we tasted it it was clear that there was a massive difference. When John and Ross got over to visit Chris on Bressay, he showed off his Shetland Sheep, that he breads, not only for meat but also for the different colours of the wool. There is a noticeable change of flavour between a Shetland lamb and other lamb that can be bought from bigger producers. He also explained to the boys about how the pigs, that he rears, help him produce other stuff on the farm by running over the land. It was a really interesting trip and he runs giuded tours so people can find out more. We have sent guests over to the croft & helped others book tours, we think it is important to help out the suppliers in anyway we can not just by using their produce.

What we use his produce for
Chris is smaller scale than some of our other suppliers therefore we use his produce more for specials than on our main menu. But here is a top tip, if you see Garths croft pork chop on the specials board make sure you try them out as they are out of this world
